'Thala 55' team is not sure yet about Anushka

The extent of Anushka's involvement in 'Thala 55'

The media was abuzz awhile back with a news that Anushka would be dubbing in her own voice for the upcoming Ajith - Gautham Menon film, 'Thala 55'. When we investigated in this regard, sources in the know say that it is too early to comment on this. The director would take a call on whether to use Anushka's own voice, only when the film reaches the dubbing stage.

So it is not yet clear whether we would get to hear Anushka's own voice in 'Thala 55'. Trisha is the other heroine in the movie and she is another leading actress who rarely dubs in her own voice for her films.

The shoots of 'Thala 55' are happening in Chennai currently and the film may hit the screens towards the end of the year or in early 2015.

‘Thala 55’ is gathering expectations with every passing day. Director Gautham Menon, in a recent interview, talked about Thala’s makeover. He said, “We haven’t disclosed Ajith’s new look yet, as the entire movie rides on it. His makeover will be the movie’s highlight and surprise.”

Reportedly, here are three points that Ajith had for Gautham Menon before begnning the project:

“Gautham, don’t compromise anything for me.”

“In the end, it should be like ‘Ajith has been a part of Gautham Menon's film’, not any other way”

“Don’t have unnecessary punch lines for me.”

It seems, Ajith totally wishes to surrender to his director's vision as they intend to make a special movie, on the lines of the director's earlier cop flicks.

Gautham Menon has a knack of making cool movies, and that’s one of the primary reasons why his association with Thala Ajith has been met with such high expectations and hype. Now, we have the official word on the movie’s coolness factor.

Dan Macarthur, the cinematographer for the movie who has been regular with his updates on the movie's progress, recently tweeted, “Shoot going well - Night shots and another fight scene. Schedule going well and film looking very cool”

The movie has Anushka Shetty and possibly Trisha too as the female leads, and has Harris Jayaraj’s music. It is to be noted that this movie marks the comeback of the hit director – musician combination.

The upcoming Ajith - Gautham film, tentatively titled 'Sathya', resumed its shoots on the 14th of May and comedian Vivek also joined the unit. The cinematographer of the movie Dan MacArthur, who has been regular in updating about the status of the movie, stated yesterday that the team would be shooting for an action sequence at night with Ajith at the helm of affairs. Dan also sounded pleased with the visual output of the film and lauded his team for the great work.

"One more night of intense action tonight the mighty #Ajith fights on. Scenes are looking very cool. Great work team"

With the likes of Anushka, Trisha, Arun Vijay and Vivek as part of the support cast along with Thala, 'Sathya' is as big as they come. This A.M.Rathnam action entertainer will probably release in the beginning of next year and Eros International is likely to be involved in the theatrical distribution.

The much hyped Ajith - Gautham Menon film, 'Thala 55', has formally kicked off today, the 9th April, with a pooja ceremony which happened at the Sri Viswaroopa Shirdi Saibaba Temple in Valasaravakkam, Chennai adjacent to producer A.M.Ratnam's office.
