Anjaan' smashes all the B.O records...

Thanks to the promotion & buzz, 'Anjaan' has set a new record in the opening week collections by garnering more than 30 Crores in the first 3 days. No other movie in the past has achieved this feat in Tamil & Malayalam. The Surya - Samantha - Vidyut Jamwal starrer was opened to huge expectations for the Indepence day across all over the world in more than 1500 screens.

The film industry is amazed by the response so far, and expecting more to come. The movie is trimmed close to 6 mins owing to negative reviews in the social media & from critics. However, the Telugu version remains unchanged.

Dhanush's 'VIP' has bagged 50+ Crores in 25 days (nett) and 'Anjaan' has crossed 30 Crore mark within 3 days itself. Finally, the theatre owners/distributors got nothing to complain. Meanwhile, 'Jigarthanda' & 'Sathuranga Vettai' too declared as hits by the trade sources. It will be interesting to see whether Surya can pull off the magical 100+ crore for the first time in his career.

Velaiyilla Pattathari all set to release on 18th July. The film will be released in India by Madhan's Escape Artists Motion Pictures and Overseas release by Yahiah's United Exports & Ayngaran International. Madhan planned to release 400 Screens in Tamilnadu.

Velaiyilla Pattathari directed and filmed by cameraman Velraj making his directorial debut. The film is produced by Dhanush, who also features in thelead role being his 25th project as a actor with Amala Paul as the female lead. Samudrakani, Saranya Ponvannan, Vivek and Sathish are playingimportant roles. Music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Both Siva Karthikeyan and Anirudh who share a harmonious relationship with Dhanush are likely to make a guest appearance in a song in the film. The film is reportedly a comedy on rising unemployment and the growing frustration among the youth.

Kaththi Teaser – Pure copy of NY Times ad!!

Kaththi – The most talked about film starring Vijay and directed by AR Murugadoss is making news for negative reasons in the social media. The first look motion poster of Kaththi was released yesterday which also marked actor Vijay’s birthday. The teaser was designed with newspaper concept including important landmarks of Chennai. But people in the social media argue that it is a pure copy of New York Times News Paper’s promo that was released in YouTube on 3rd July, 2012. Clarification from Kaththi team is awaited.

Kaththi, the Vijay starrer that is being directed by A R Murugadoss is currently being shot in Chennai. Samantha pairs up for the first time with Vijay and the film is being produced by Lyca Productions.

Anirudh is the music director of the film and it has been said that Vijay will lend his voice for one number. Meanwhile there were rumors that Dhanush was penning the lyrics for Vijay’s song but that was put to rest as a rumor.

For the latest update on the film, Anirudh says that Kaththi is really shaping up well. He states in his microblogger, “#Kaththi shaping up really well! Hope you all love it as much as we do :)”

With the film in a fasttrack mode, the expectations are also warming up pretty fast as the film gears up for a Diwali 2014 release.

The much hyped Ajith - Gautham Menon film, 'Thala 55', has formally kicked off today, the 9th April, with a pooja ceremony which happened at the Sri Viswaroopa Shirdi Saibaba Temple in Valasaravakkam, Chennai adjacent to producer A.M.Ratnam's office.
